i sort of find it scary.. i think we are all been prep since young to get use to the exam climate... (although it's realli something that never enough practice will calm ur nerves)

you remember playing video games?? i remember myself playing mario and sonic. I shudder when i spotted some similarities with exams..

there is always a time factor. And within this time, u r mario, or u r sonic... trying to go through all the trials and tribulations that have been so meticulously set up for you so that u can fall into their every little single trap.. U jump past a hole, u shoot a menancing looking creature, you collect the coins along the way. Always hoping to get as many points as possible... at the end u fight the BOSS... Fighting BOSS is tough, u need enough power, stamina and strategy.. if you manage to kill BOSS, u proceed and they total up ur score.. ( i can hear the coins trickling as it is been counted)...

isnt it like exams... u r always against time... u need precision and accuracy as u read the qns and be sure not to fall into any of the traps set for u to fall into... as u answer a qns correctly, u pick up that coin... at the end of it, usually Section C is where u will meet BOSS.. by then u r tired, lack stamina and BOSS is actually 'innocently' waiting there for u for a long time.. u try to fight it... there is a time limit too... so u decide to use all that every bit of energy left in u and fight it all out.. at teh end of it, they will tabulate your score...

got negative marking, even more apt... u touch the monster creature accidentally, u can actually see coins dropping out of ur pockets.... rolling rolling away... ya just like the points we pain-stakingly build up rolling away...

sigh... now i finally understand the true purpose behind these 'educational' games.... just that now, we play them at a different scale... same rules apply.

went to watch Avenue Q yesterday night at the Esplanade.. first time watching a musical there.. The musical was nice! the songs were funny and the storyline was refreshing.... thanks shaun for ur recommendation.. i tink i noe why u like it so much and keep asking mi to watch liao.. haha. Coz the puppets are so funny.. hmm. entertaining 2 1/2 hrs. hmm shld b studying at this period now la.. but the show choose to be in town now, wat to do.. lol. k fun's over for now.. serious work first... tata..

long time no blog le.. i tink my 3 minute hotness is showing again.. this time it lasted a bit longer than 3 minute i think.. hahah..
hectic sem that passes so fast.. felt as though i haven done anything much but i m always busy... test after test every week keep me so occupied... whenever i m at home, i ll b in the room chained to my study table... POW.. sad.. long time no go NCC le.. hope can finish data collection on time.. tml dry run for P1 presentation for fyp.. i'm scared... almost never gave a presentation in my entire uni life... now bo bian.. hopefully tml n the real thing next mon will not b so harsh on me.. oh well, my sup for one is 不好搞 alreadi... i wish myself luck..

Bday Part 2

ok.. part 2 of my bdae.. on actual day, went to Marina Mandarin for a sumptuous buffet dinner with dear. Aquamarine, found online, highly recommended by many foodies.. plus that day coz of impending F1, they had an extra theme, so it was international + french.. food was nice, exquisite.. like their desserts.. so pretty, all of them.. their seafood was good too.. but the french part, don quite like.. tried the smoked duck, which is like half cooked kind, eeks, i can still rmb the lingering taste.. tot it would b nice.. but still, a piece of smoked duch didnt dampen the fun nite!

PS. coz of F1, we had complementary racing cars on our dinner table... businessmen.. realli able to commericialize everything to their benefit.. haha.. n we leh?? dumb dumb consumers... willing to get chop.. oh well, happy jiu hao. isnt it?

my bday had long past.. haven blog on it yet. let me intro by parts first... last sun, had steamboat with 13yao.. to mass celebrate angie, sing n my bdae.. as our usual practice, presents were made known (in fact we chose it ourselves), the bdae cards were hand-made n signed by all of us.. i received a veri creatve bdae card made by sing... chim lor.. small small but a lot of tot put into it.. thanks gal! =p

had steamboat at bugis that ChongQing mala shop.. we din hav their mala but their other soup bases were veri nice.. i like the herbal n tomyam de.. the salted veg one taste weird though... a lot of variety there... i love their lala, veri big n juicy... oh n also the fuzhou fishball... bursting w juice, there was one where i bit into it n the juice shot out at marcus.. oops.. veri no yi tai... paiseh leh.. lucky is marcus.. i don care.. haa had a lot of fun!!

then went tcc to 'sing song cut cake open present'. in " " coz our usual practice when we r veri full, the cake is single sliced kind (no need to cut), present we noe wat it is (just open to 'confirm'). oh it was also the last 13 yao gathering before shaun left on wed..

sent him off at the airport on wed nite... he'll b back onli one yr later.. awh... hopefully he doesnt change much again.. it was veri funny.. after we sent him in, he still keep walking up n down, machiam wan us to notice him n wave to him more.. (hhaha, joking la k, hope u didnt realli meant it tt way).. =p but mr teo, give u another yr, muz still rmb us k... muz keep in contact hor.. tata..

tonight- a bit of fast shopping at orchard, a good bowl of noodles from bugis, a glass of chilling, yummy nougaut milk shake from tcc, a casual meeting up w angie, sing, shaun and a glimpse of kat..

last week my happiest day... i show u... i love the times spent with 4/1... i miss those times in 4/1 where things are simple. when there is not so many distractions along the way... we stay the way we are, we laugh at the same jokes........ miss those days... i realli do... tms 4/1. lucky to get the chance to go back tms after 6yrs... overnight somemore... lucky me.. lucky us..

went to Synergy Dance Reflections yest at UCC... very artistic.. a bit too chim for mi to understand... liked onli a few pieces of the dance. went there with dear, to support a friend of his.. so met a few of his other friends. interesting ppl.

after that dance, poor thing, it was raining so heavily outside... for supper, we called cab (after a hard time trying to get 2cabs to fit 7 of us), we headed to Holland V.. ended up at crystal jade. initially thinking of a light supper, in the end, the guys opted for steamboat. imagine steamboat for supper.. haha we went along.. first time heard crystal jade hav steamboat.. actually its quite nice. apart from its steamboat, which is the yuan yang kind, we had unlimited orders of xiao long bao and steam dumplings... for dessert they still hav tow huay. omg.. it was nice. but heavy for supper.. the place opened till 1am somemore. omg.. mayb they made a vow, vow to make sporeans fat.. haha. maybe if hav chance can go there w other friends... i shld say its better than many steamboats out there...

did a bit of cooking recently. polishing some of my old receipe as well as trying new ones.

i tink 2 weeks ago, i did a roast chicken with dear... success. yum! sis also say its veri nice..

then just, we had our dinner. tonight's menu, seafood rice aka my version of paella, with homemade french fries, fried calamari, oven-baked spiced mussels and prawns.... did dinner tog with huisan n dear...everything was done from scratch. huisan found the secret to crispy fries by chance n it was realli good. 2 hours of work, a wonderful dinner. even mummy say its nice, then shld b nice.. hahaha... more hope for my cafe le... wondering when i can realli own a cafe or whether there realli would b such a day..

ok test coming, hav to study... boo

i can only imagine myself as a whole full system and trying hard to convince my mind that everything is alright, forcing my body to perphaps release some of its endorphins.. maybe its time to re-fill..

wishes do come true

haven had such fun for a long long time.. tonite met up with 4/1 ppl to celebrate jared's bday... mostly made up of 13 yao ppl, but its always nice when the other 4/1 ppl join in, catching up with each other. had dinner at mache, it was a cozy dinner. shared the german pork knuckle, pan fried mushrooms, risotti and calamari with kat, sing n shaun. the pork knuckle is realli quite nice, the skin so crispy..

i like pacific coffee ambience though al fresco a bit warm.. the big sofa cushion.. to think 17 of us can actually cuddle up tog to chat.. we almost revamped the entire al fresco place la... moving the tables n chairs to fit all of us..

i think they seldom handle such BIG orders.. coz to think they made our order wrongly n gave us 6 more mochas for FREE... OoOOOO... seriously.. too much.. cant finish..

guess all of us r meeting again soon... in 2 weeks time, ideally. in a format which i hav dreamt of having for a long long time... ideally, its with this group of ppl. so its really a wish come true.

Maybe, Once in a while, wishes DO eventually come true..

you know, the weeks pass so fast... its now alreadi the 3rd week.. *pants on fire* and this sem only 13 weeks... working on my fyp... its realli sharpening my research skills that hav never quite been developed.. (if it had, it had stunted growth i guess) whenever i tink of fyp, i wonder hows kat with the findings on wafarin, sing on her mickeys and diabetes.. And me, i'm doing outcomes of complementary med in cancer.. but mine shld be less fun compared to them both. coz i m doing a non-lab fyp, so soon u all will hear me complaining bout looking through 400 patients casenotes... I had 2 choices of a lab-based fyp as part of my top 3 first interests too.. They sound interesting, one about formulating a sunscreen with specific characteristcs n another also bout cancer.. but to bad, din get them.. heaven's way of helpng me decide bah.. either way, i will 'complain' bout something.. muz as well let up there decide wats best for me bah..

haven go out for quite some time le. (mayb the lack of 'fresh' air explains for my gradually depressive mood) ppl, yue wo bah!!! hahaha.. hmm, things shld start getting exciting from sat onwards bah... meeting 4/1 to celebrate jared's bday...6th yr since sec4. then next fri meeting pri sch friends+ my pri 3 teacher.. shld b fun also bah.. ya, my 2 major upcoming events.. yipee!!!~~

recently i went to my ah ma house... then someone drag out old photos to see... my sis n i found our old photos that we hav not known for so many many years... so funny n playful we were since young.. so cute... let me show u my sis n i.. can u recognise the difference???

Dry spell broken!!!!!!!

spore WON our first Silver since 48years!!!!!!! woohoooooo, we broke the dry spell at last.... hopefully it will rain continue to rain more medals on us... although its by not pure Sporeans, but i guess we can close one eye since they got us a Silver somehow?? lol

watched the finals just now... although as expected spore is VERY not likely to win China, i still made it a point to watch it with that small glimmer of hope.. maybe. hopefully.. you noe..
when feng tian wei won the first set tot got hope... but then i realised, china ppl need their warm up de.. first set they let you, but the net few, they get fiercer and fiercer... and their play was realli better la.. no words more to say.. nothing to argue.. the China china ppl zhang yin ning, wang nan n guo jing played realli well...

spore de is good. but not as good bah.. but i tink that mdm wang is not v on form... watch her till her blood boil.... realli gugu lo... so not look like a player.... argh....
oh well, we still got a SILVER!!!!!!!!! job well done........ jiayou for folloeing matches!!!

COT chalet

ooo... when was the last time i posted...

had a much anticipated weekend!!! had COT chalet at aloha loyang on fri after school for one night... we prepared for a BBQ dinner which dear n i bought n prepared on thurs nite... a lot of food... but due to the charcoal quality, a bit difficult to get good fire.. was BBQ-ing over low fire till we borrowed charcoal from next pit... then our BBQ realli got started. haha. then mindy quite poor thing.. eating vegetarian on friday... could onli hav potato and asparagus mainly... + banana.. aiyo.. i feel bad..
then wats COT if we dont hav a COT session... haha. wp n hc were tired din join in. hmm mayb u gals can consult kk-an in future... he's quite 棒.. tell us a lot about our character based on horoscopes and its realli quite true... proven by the rest of us... hee...

happy happy... hope COT have more more outings... like it when all of us r together, always so fun n enjoyable when all of us r together... so many rubbish... maybe we shld make it a monthly effort to meet up or something... wat ya think?

due to the Olypmics, China is trying very hard to welcome the foreigners by self-improving...
seen on news last night, many China restaurants in their bid to woo caucasians to their restaurants, they hav tried coming up with English translations for their dishes.. One dish i rmb hearing was for 童子鸡, instead of spring chicken, it was called 'chicken without sexual life'... *evil* but wahahahahaa.... my sis n i laughed non stop

btw, a Singaporean made a documentary film called 'Mad about English'
